NEW for Summer 2025! At Parks of Essex we love a family friendly cycle and scooter spot. In fact we have pulled together our favourite cycle and skate parks in Essex in a full guide! However, there is a new cycle park in Essex, and it's awrsome. A brand NEW cycle skills track has opened in Tower Gardens, Admirals Park in Chelmsford. Parks of Essex have checked out the Chelsmford cycle track and have all the details.
The new cycle skills area is the perfect spot for children learning how to ride bikes and scooters. As well as being great for beginners, the Chelmsford cycle track is also fantastic for those wanting to perfect cycle skills. The cycle track has road markings so it is also great for teaching safe cycling and build cycle confidence.
Official Opening Event!
The cycle circuit is OPEN NOW! However, there is an official opening on 14th August 2025. The Chelmsford Community Sport and Wellbeing Smoothie Bike will make an appearance. Bikeability Instructors will be running free sessions including how to ride balance bikes, learn to ride and bikability. Sessions are limited and should be prebooked. Where is the Chelsmford Cycle Track?
The new cycle track can be found at Tower Gardens, Admirals Park in Chelmsford. Admirals Park has been awarded a Green Flag Award. The cycle track is close to the bowling green and next to the Tower in Tower Gardens.
How much does it cost to use the Chelmsford Cycle Track?

Can you book the Chelmsford Cycle Track?
The cycle skills track at Tower Gardens, Admiral Gardens is open to all the public. No booking is required. Drop in and play!
Is the Chelmsford Cycle Track Accessible?
The cycle track is located close to the Tower Gardens car park, which has accessible parking spaces. There is level access to the cycle circuit. There is in an accessible toilet nearby (not changing places) which is open during daylight hours.
Are dogs allowed at the Chelmsford Cycle Track
The cycle track is enclosed and no dogs are permitted inside the track. Tower Gardens and Admirals Park are dog friendly parks (other than inside the play areas).
Are there toilets at Admirals Park and Tower Gardens
There are public toilets at Tower Gardens, they are located near the footbridge from Admirals Park to West Park.
What else is there to do at Admirals Park and Tower Gardens?
