Fingringhoe Wick Nature Reserve can be found in Colchester. This Essex Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve is home to many different species of plants and animals. There are amazing birdwatching opportunities. Birds can be watched over the estuary and observed from the many bird hides.
Fingringhoe Wick is a great place to visit in Essex with kids. There are regular family friendly events hosted by Essex Wildlife Trust - especially throughout the school holidays. There is also a wooden adventure play area, located next to the Fingringhoe Wick Visitor Centre.

Fingringhoe Wick Playground
The play area at Fingringhoe Wick is wooden. The play area consists of several wooden climbs, bridges and tunnels underneath. The play area is best for children of at least preschool age. The play area is quite small. It is located opposite the visitor centre.
Where to eat and drink the Fingringhoe Wick Nature Park
There is an Essex Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre at Fingringhoe WIck. Inside the visitor centre there is a cafe which sells hot and cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches. Fingringhoe Wick Nature Discovery Centre is open 7 days a week. Winter opening hours 10am – 4pm, the centre closes at 5pm in the summer months.
